Cottage Vendors

Michigan's Cottage Food Law allows individuals to manufacture and sell certain "non-potentially hazardous" foods, like baked goods, jams, vinegars, oils and spice blends made in a home kitchen directly to consumers. These operations are exempt from licensing and inspection by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD), provided they follow specific rules regarding allowable products, sales caps, and labeling.

Humble Harvest Co., LLC provides an online directory to help customers discover local Cottage Food vendors.
All Cottage Food transactions are completed directly between the customer and the vendor.
Humble Harvest Co., LLC does not process payments, handle products, or act as a reseller of any Cottage Food items.

Cottage Food products:

  • Are made in unlicensed, uninspected home kitchens.

  • Must be sold directly by the vendor to the end customer.

  • Cannot be sold or delivered by Humble Harvest Co., LLC.

Customers purchasing Cottage Food products understand and agree that:

  • The vendor is solely responsible for the product’s labeling, safety, and compliance.

  • Humble Harvest Co., LLC bears no liability for any illness, injury, or damage arising from such products.

  • Payment and product exchange occur directly between the vendor and the customer.

  2. The query will go directly to the Cottage Vendor, who will follow up with you.

  3. At the designated time and location, you will pick up the product and pay directly with the Cottage Vendor
